Varsha Ramkumar

Varsha Ramkumar was initiated into the ancient Indian classical dance-form of Bharatanatyam at the age of five. She has been learning and growing in her saadhana (discipline of routine practice) under the aegis of Dr. Shridhar Vasudevan since 2004 at Hamsini Centre for Bharatanatyam and Karnatak Music, New Delhi. She completed her Arangetrum under the tutelage of Dr. Shridhar Vasudevan in 2010. Varsha later accompanied her guru in various dance performances and lecture demonstrations all over the country. She is a graded artist of Doordarshan (Govt. of India), New Delhi. With an intention to further her skills in this art form, she also trained in Nattuvangam under the tutelage of Guru Smt Kamala Srinivasan. In Toronto, she aims to not only pursue her ambitions of world-level performance, but also to enable students and enthusiasts to learn and delve into the intricate art of Bharatanatyam.
